Conservation: Intern
Qualifications:
Preference to students working towards a degree in natural resources. Must be 18 years of age, possess a valid driver’s license, ability to operate commercial lawn mowing equipment, tractors, chain saws, and general handheld tools.
Job Description:
The Butler County Conservation Board is now accepting applications for seasonal Conservation Intern position. This position will assist with general park maintenance, trail maintenance, and habitat establishment.
This is a great opportunity for students working towards a degree in the Natural Resource Field. While some mowing and trimming is required, a majority of the time is spent assisting full-time staff with projects and general maintenance. Employees will be given the opportunity to learn how to operate work-related equipment including chainsaws, tractors and skid loader. Employees will work an average of 40 hours a week with some weekends and holidays required. Work setting is primarily outdoors in areas such as campgrounds, public hunting areas, prairies and preserves, bike trail and shop.
Salary:
$11.00 to $13.00 per hour
